First Devlog.
like (most of) you. i have unfinished games. in fact, i have plenty of them. Around this time, i had been wanting to do a game jam. i looked around and i had found this game jam about finishing unfinished games. i thought that it would be a good idea to join so that's why i am here. I should probably get started with the actual game. it is a 2d pixel art platformer called ballooned about flying a hot-air-balloon. in its current state, it does not do much other the basic flying mechanics such as picking up logs, burning them to fly and also getting off the balloon and jumping around.



pls ignore the wrong spelling for balloon in the window title. i do know how to spell.
My idea is that instead of levels, it will be one world separated by checkpoints. the checkpoints are essentially the divider between levels except that is no level picker screen. the "levels" might be made up of floating islands, mountains or perhaps something else. i dont really know yet. anyway, i am a long ways from that. all i have is a tiny testing map, player and balloon, and chopping bushes.
the game is written in rust using the ggez lib. i find it suits my needs good enough however it does not come with a graphical editor so development does take a little longer.
